DrumCorps.net currently lists Gems as an active corps. Use the official packet and staff instructions linked below to confirm the current season’s complete requirements before registering, paying, or traveling.

Season details change. Eligibility, open positions, audition exercises, deadlines, costs, and required attendance can vary by section and season. The linked packet or official audition page is the controlling source.

Audition and membership information from DrumCorps.net

Difficulty and cost are neutral markers: public sources do not provide a selection rate or a complete season tuition total. The 2026 open class affiliate season included two scored DCI appearances; DCI reported second place at both, including 58.950 at the Northwest Youth Music Games in Portland. Gems did not appear in the 2026 Open Class Championship Finals. See official membership information, DCI’s season report, and official Portland scores.

Complete audition requirement checklist

Use this checklist with the current Gems packet. Requirements may differ by brass, battery, front ensemble, color guard, dance, conducting, or other caption.

  • Confirm minimum and maximum age, age-out date, and any program-specific eligibility rules.
  • Choose the exact caption and instrument; check prerequisites, available positions, and required experience.
  • Register by the deadline and obtain every required audition packet, exercise, excerpt, and learning track.
  • Follow the packet’s preparation instructions: tempo, memorization, warm-up, technique, movement, and performance expectations.
  • Confirm audition format, location, schedule, required camps, callback process, and attendance expectations.
  • For video auditions, follow the exact framing, audio, take, file-format, filename, upload, and submission deadline rules.
  • Ask about audition, packet, camp, and callback fees; determine which fees apply to tuition and which are nonrefundable.
  • Before accepting a position, review the membership agreement, full season dues, payment dates, travel, housing, meals, equipment, uniform, and refund terms.
  • Complete required medical, emergency-contact, guardian-consent, conduct, safety, and travel forms.
